Pupsicle Recipes

Summer time means warmer weather and ice-cream! But before you decide to give your furry friend a lick, have a close look at the ingredients. For many dogs the lactose in dairy can lead to an upset stomach, diarrhea and even vomiting. Unprocessed, plain yogurt is likely easiest for a dog’s tummy and it’s what we use in our mixes.

Nothing beats sharing an ice-cream with a loved one. See if these ones below don’t put a smile on your faces. Don’t forget to check out our fun freezer safe moulds.

Banana peanut butter pups

This recipe is simple, delicious and easy to vary. Smash treats and mix in throughout, or place them in the centre of the pupsicle as a hidden reward. The Chicken Pup

For something a bit meatier, try combining some cooked chicken, with stock and some fresh veggies. We substitute coconut milk for yogurt to keep these dairy free.

120 ml coconut milk or 100g of yogurt

½ a carrot

½ a chicken breast (around 40g should be plenty)

How to make it:

1) Boil or steam the carrot until it is soft enough to blend.

2) Bake chicken until completely cooked through.

3) Blend or smash carrot to remove large chunks.

5) Finely chop the chicken.

4) Combine and mix together all ingredients.

5) Pour into popsicle moulds or ice trays and freeze until solid
